What Social Media Sites Should My Business Be Using?

Social media doesn’t always get a positive review. Indeed, social media has gotten a bad reputation over the years, fueled in large part by concerns about privacy, fake news, and excessive screen time. While social media certainly has its downsides, for businesses throughout Indiana that want to connect with customers, maintaining a social media presence is a must. However, even if you recognize that your company should be on social media, you may not be sure of which sites are most appropriate for your brand. Here’s our list of the top social media sites that your business should be using; note, however, that there may be additional sites not listed that are well-suited for your industry. Talk to our team to learn more.

Facebook

When it comes to social media marketing, Facebook is still king for businesses. Creating a Facebook business page is straightforward and user-friendly, and is arguably one of the easiest ways for your business to connect with customers and potential customers throughout your community. Of course, be sure to set up Facebook Messenger as well in order to have direct conversations with those who are interested in learning more about your brand.

Instagram

Facebook can be used to share content, connect with users, post events, and much, much more. On the other hand, Instagram is primary about sharing information through imagery. For brands and businesses that aren’t well-positioned for this, Instagram can be a little more challenging, but is still worthwhile. Using a smartphone, your business can post pictures and information (and use Instagram’s filters to touch things up) that help to build its brand and gain followers.

LinkedIn

LinkedIn is a great option for businesses that want to share information about the industry, primarily for the purpose of recruiting new employees. If your business is hiring, LinkedIn is an awesome spot to find job-seekers with the skills and values you’re looking for.

Google My Business

While Google My Business doesn’t fit into the traditional definition of a social media site, it is important for your business to have a Google My Business profile, especially if you care about connecting with local customers. Like other social media sites, Google My Business is a completely free tool, and one you’d be remiss not to use.
