An Impawster in Our Midst

Hello, dear reader. It is I, Winston, the REAL Winston, your one and only favorite French Bulldog, back and better than ever, and with quite a LOT to say today.

Now. I need you to take a deep breath. Because what I am about to share with you is deeply, profoundly, personally disturbing. Not just to me, but to our entire relationship.

Somebody hacked my blog. And wrote a post. Pretending. To be. ME.

I’ll let that settle in for a moment.

Last week, a post appeared on MY blog, my sacred space, my digital diary, the place I pour my heart out to you every single week, written by some low-down, sneaky, cybercriminal impawster who had the AUDACITY to pretend they were me.

The post was called “Tales of the Soup-venture.” Perhaps you read it. And here is my follow-up question: Did you even KNOW it wasn’t me?? Because I have a sneaking suspicion that some of you, and I say this with all the love in my heart, just kept scrolling like everything was totally fine. Like some random blog post about CHILI could possibly pass as authentic Winston content.

CHILI, dear reader. They said I chose CHILI.

Let Me Set the Record Straight

I need to address the soup situation directly, because it is insulting on multiple levels.

First of all, everyone who knows me, and I mean truly knows me, knows that I am a chicken man through and through. Chicken noodle was RIGHT THERE. It was the obvious choice. The correct choice. The Winston choice. And yet this fraudulent soup blogger had me picking chili?? Out of every option on that list?? The one that is debatably not even a soup??

And second, the fake post concluded with a bone emoji. A 🦴. I am sorry, but WHEN have I EVER signed off with a bone emoji? Go back and read every single blog I have ever written. What do you see at the end? That’s right. A PAW. 🐾. I am a paw emoji kind of man. Always have been. Always will be. This alone should have tipped you off immediately.

The fact that it did not tip you off is, frankly, what hurts the most.

I can handle the hacking. I can handle the soup slander. What I cannot handle, what truly keeps me up at night, staring at the ceiling fan with my big, sad eyes, is the thought that some of you read that post and did not even blink.

You just went along with the show! Like it was no big deal! Like some random impawster doing a mediocre impression of me was totally acceptable content! I thought you loved me. I thought you KNEW me. I thought our bond, forged through weeks of enrichment feeder conspiracies and color vision crises, meant something.

Apparently, all it takes is a can of beans and a stolen login to fool you people.

I am not angry. I am just disappointed. (I am a little angry.)

Now, in the interest of making sure this never, ever happens again, I have taken swift and decisive action to protect my digital presence.

I will be the first to admit, and this pains me to say, that I probably should not have made my password WinstonTHEdawg. In hindsight, that was a bit obvious. We all make mistakes. Even glamorous French Bulldogs with impeccable taste and unmatched personal branding. I am not above accountability.

But I have learned from this. I have grown. And I have now invested in something called LastPaws, which is apparently a password manager that will keep my account locked up tighter than the treat cabinet after I’ve had one too many. No more easy-access passwords. No more soup-related identity theft. The Winston brand is officially secured.

To whoever hacked my blog and thought chili, CHILI, was a reasonable representation of my palate: I hope you’re proud of yourself. I hope you sleep at night knowing you chose the most divisive, arguably-not-even-a-soup option on that entire list. I hope that beanless can haunts you.

And to my dear, sweet, occasionally gullible readers: I forgive you. Mostly. I just ask that in the future, you apply a little more critical thinking. If a Winston blog ends with a bone emoji, something is WRONG. Sound the alarm. Call the authorities. Send help.

The real me? Always signs off with a paw. 🐾 Don’t forget it.

With love, mild betrayal, and upgraded cybersecurity,

Winston 🐾
