Tales of the Soup-venture

Good morning, afternoon, or night, fellow K9s! It is Winston, your feisty, four-legged friend. There is one thing I have always wanted to try. You may ask, Winston, what have you possibly not done in your couple of years of life? Simple. Eat a bowl of soup.

Now, why would I, a meat-loving doggie pal, want to eat a bowl of soup? Because why not, KAREN. But where would you get it from, Winston? Um probably the same place you get your soup from… a can, DUH! I can totally see myself eating soup. (See what I did there?)

Now, in order to find the perfect soup to eat, I must weigh all my options.

We’ve got the classics: Chicken Noodle (who doesn’t love anything with chicken), Broccoli Cheddar (might make me a little gassy), Tomato (pass the grilled cheese, please!), Potato (cheese, potato AND bacon!), Chili (is this even considered a soup?)

And then we’ve got the more unique ones: Clam Chowder (sounds suspicious), Potato Leek (what is a leek?), Minestrone (those beans might cause the toots), Miso Soup (where’s the meat?!), Borscht (nothing like a vegetable that tastes like DIRT in liquid form)

Hold on… I’M A DOG! Why didn’t you tell me?? I should love a soup that tastes like dirt! Or the meaty soups! OR even better, the ones that clear a room.

I think the best kind of soup for me to try is (drum roll please!)… CHILI!! It’s got meat, beans, and best of all, FLAVOR.

Some time later, I found my chili in a can. Delicious! But wait a minute… Chili with NO beans?? You mean to tell me the winner of my soup-bacle doesn’t even have one of the factors that made me choose it? Whatever. I already have it. Time to eat.

After pouring my chili into a bowl, I chowed DOWN. When I tell you I ate it faster than I poured it, oh my, you should’ve seen it. It was the best thing I had ever tasted! The consistency wasn’t too thick; there was plenty of meat evenly distributed in each bite, and it still gave me the toots! Mission accomplished!

See ya next time,

Winston 🦴
