GUESS WHAT TODAY IS!!!
Oh, I dunno, Winston, hump day?
NO- well, actually yes – BUT NO!
It’s finally the day you’ve all been desperately waiting for – MY BIRTHDAY!!
That’s right, guys; your favorite little pup is officially one year old today. And let me tell you what, so far, it’s been a PAWTY!
I’d been eagerly counting down the days to my birthday for a while, but I was trying not to get too excited. You know me – I have always been so modest. Never, not once, have I done anything to draw attention to myself.
Flashes back to the glory days of his youth. Shitzus and Yorkies are begging for mercy. Humans are throwing themselves at his feet, chanting his name. Winston, Winston, Winston!
Anyways, where was I? Oh yes, my birthday! I was trying not to get too excited because I didn’t know if anybody would make that big of a deal out of it. It’s my first one – I’m not sure how it all works! Would there be cake? Would I get a cake and a present? Would I just be told I was a good boy? Anything would have been just dandy, but I didn’t want to get my hopes up too much – I didn’t want to be disappointed.
BUT LO AND BEHOLD!
When I woke up this morning, my mom dressed me in a little fancy shirt and gave me a little birthday hat to wear. It was then that I knew today was going to be REALLY good. We got all strapped in the car, and my sister Molly even decided to come with us. She didn’t want to miss out on my special day.
When we got to the office, my parents and my aunties started singing me the birthday song (which, let’s be honest, is really just an excuse for them to make weird noises with their mouths). And then… THEN! They brought out a cake made entirely of my favorite treats. You guys, it was glorious. I may have shed a tear or two of joy.
I scarfed that piece of cake down like I’ve never scarfed anything down before – and you know me, I only know how to inhale my food, so that’s saying something. Molly joined in on my cake-eating, but let’s be real – it was my birthday, so I got the bigger slice.
After that, my mom surprised me with a new toy. It was shaped like a little birthday cake and had a squeaker inside. I must have played with that thing for hours, annoying all of my aunties who were trying to get work done (sorry, guys!). But hey, what’s a birthday without some chaos and fun?
Then we had a little photoshoot. I gotta say, I looked pretty darn cute in my birthday hat. No one can rock the camera like I can, and man was I feeling myself today.
All in all, it’s been a pretty amazing day. I may be just one year old, but I already feel like I can take on anything. Being one year old means growing up. It means taking on more responsibilities and being held accountable for my actions. Mom may have even dropped a hint or two that a big office promotion may be in my future. But hey, I am ready for it! After all, I have some pawsome role models in my life, like Snoopy and Scooby-Doo. Plus, I know that as long as I have the love and support of my family, I can conquer anything.
So, here’s to another amazing year filled with adventures, cuddles, and lots of treats! Who knows what the future holds for me, but one thing is for sure – it’s going to be a wild ride! Thank you all for being a part of my journey so far. Now, let me try to find some more of that cake…
Toodles!
