You Won’t Believe These 6 Office Dog Perks

Oh, Wednesdays, how you taunt this poor office pup. So close to the weekend, yet still so far. I’ve been trying so hard, dear reader, to give this job my all, but the boredom is stifling. It hangs in the air all around me like the scent of bacon, or beef, or a bone, or a toy, or a really nice-smelling plot of grass, or a …

AHH, focus! Anyway, back to my musings. What is a poor pup to do when stuck in the monotony of a 9-5 job, day in and day out? Well, I’ve realized that sometimes, when life seems bleak, you just have to look at it from another angle. You have to find the light in the darkness, the hidden dog treat in the mud. As much as I wish I could seize life fiercely and shake it into submission, reality dictates otherwise. Thus, I choose pawsitivity.

To begin my journey of becoming a more positive pup, I have decided to challenge myself by looking at all the benefits this bleak, boring office provides me. Perhaps then, I won’t take my role for granted. So, here are a few benefits I’ve found so far:

  • A steady supply of treats and bones: Okay, this may seem obvious, but let’s not overlook the fact that these chewy delights are provided to me daily. And with my charming puppy eyes, I often get extra treats from my aunties.
  • A delicious water supply: Nothing makes a day go by faster than a tasty drink to sip upon, and I have found one of the most delicious drinks around. It comes in this giant porcelain bowl in this little room and never runs out! It’s a miracle – I wonder why no one else has taken advantage of this.
  • Plenty of napping opportunities: The monotony of the office may seem tedious, but it also provides plenty of quiet time for me to catch up on some much-needed rest. And let’s be honest, napping is one of my favorite pastimes. Plus, I even have my own Winston-sized couch to lie on. Yeah, you heard me right. I can feel how jealous you are.
  • Endless opportunities for exercise: Being cooped up in an office all day can make a pup antsy, but thankfully, due to my canine nature, I am encouraged to stretch my legs and take a walk outside every couple of hours. Granted, I don’t care to walk very long, this body was built for lounging, but it’s still more movement than I would get if I were home alone all day.
  • Constant companionship: I may be the only pup in the office, but that doesn’t stop my aunties from constantly showering me with attention. Whether it’s belly rubs or playtime, there’s always someone willing to fawn over me and cater to my every whim. In fact, I don’t even have to use my legs if I don’t want to. I just let these innocent fools carry me around like a prince. It nearly takes me back to my prime, when I reigned supreme over lesser dogs.
  • A sense of purpose: Sure, I may not be ruling over the world or making groundbreaking discoveries, but I have an important role in this office. My job is to provide joy and lightness in an otherwise mundane environment. And it’s a responsibility I take very seriously (when I’m not napping, of course).

So you see, dear reader, even in the darkest times, there is always something to be grateful for. And as much as I may complain about my job, I am truly thankful for everything it provides me. Now, if only I could convince my aunties to give me a raise in treats… But until then, I’ll just continue to wag my tail and enjoy the little things in life. Who knows, maybe one day I’ll even learn to love Wednesdays.

Loyally yours,

Winston
