Ideas to Increase Your Social Media Engagement

Social media is one of the primary tools of communication in today’s world, with more people than ever before using sites like Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter to connect and engage, not just with friends and family, but also with brands. In order to keep up with the trend and drive sales, you need to have a savvy social media strategy in place as part of your digital marketing plan. Here are a handful of ideas to increase your social media engagement and improve your brand recognition:

Start Talking Back

No, we’re not talking about stirring the pot with insolent and impolite gibes and jeers about your competitors or global ongoings; instead, we suggest replying to your customers’ questions, complaints, and desires. If a customer comments on your page, reply to their comment publicly for everyone to see. Make sure your replies are polite, professional, and genuine.

Show Off Your Biggest Fans

Whether your company is big or small, there are surely customers who truly love what you have to offer. You should show these customers off. For example, highlight customers by asking them to post a picture wearing your brand in exchange for a free T-shirt or other benefit, and then share the post on your page as well. There are dozens of different ways that you can highlight your brand and your biggest fans–a win-win–at the same time. 

Try an AMA

If you haven’t heard of an AMA yet, now’s the time to get in the know. AMA stands for “ask me anything,” a method of engagement popularized by Reddit. Brands can post an AMA on their own sites (Instagram is an especially popular forum for doing this), and then answer questions publicly for all to see. 

Post Regularly

One of the easiest ways to keep your customers engaged on social media is simply to post regularly. A long blog or article should be posted at least a couple of times per month, if not weekly. And regular “check-in” posts should be shared even more regularly, such as daily or twice or thrice daily. The more you post, the more you’ll keep your users engaged. However, beware of posting nonsense or low-quality content just for the sake of putting something out there – this strategy will likely have the opposite of the intended effect.
